Why aren't UK contractors using Robotic Total Stations?

Construction layout tools such as Robotic Total Stations (RTS) or Rapid Positioning Systems (RPS) are capable of great things on a construction site.

Increasing efficiency and accuracy they're being utilised by companies across the world. Revolutionising the layout processes and BIM progressions but Britain still loves a tape measure and string despite all the additional work and risk involved.

So why, when laying out, are we still relying on out-dated methods with huge margins for error?
